The national seashore includes forty miles of sandy beaches, salt marshes, ponds, and uplands. Cape Cod is my second home and I am very passionate about exploring all it has to offer. From Nauset Beach, backtrack along Beach Road and Main Street through town and get onto Route 6 northbound. Next to the beach is Liam’s clam shack, known as the Lord of the (Onion) Rings. Marine and estuarine systems include beaches, sand spits, tidal flats, salt marshes, and soft-bottom benthos. This beach is in the Cape Cod National Seashore fee for parking. Geomorphic shoreline change, groundwater fluctuations, tidal dynamics including rising sea level, and atmospheric deposition are among the many physical processes that continue to shape the Seashore’s ecosystems. These systems and their associated habitats reflect the Cape’s glacial origin, dynamic natural processes, and at least 9,000 years of human activity. Located on the outer portion of the Cape, Cape Cod National Seashore’s 44,600 acres encompass a rich mosaic of marine, estuarine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems.
